NYC renowned artist Micci Cohan’s exquisite one of kind creations are a perfect way to achieve unique individuality. Cohan’s collection is sexy, artistic, and expressive. Her mission is to design original pieces that inspire her customers to celebrate what is authentic about themselves, firmly believing adornment enlightens the mind and inspires the creative passion allowing every woman to express her individual personality in a very special way. If you have an eye for something that will catch everyone else’s eye, these pieces are for you; timeless, vivid creations to collect and cherish forever.

Her distinctive artistic signature in her art as well as her sense of style expresses itself equally with her jewelry. Taking elements from different cultures and the past and combining them with newer contemporary elements she creates something completely fresh and wholly unique.

Think hip bohemian meets tribal-ethnic-glam. Her designs are inspired by art, jewelry, fashion, world cultures and much of the collection draws inspiration from her frequent travels to Istanbul, and the art and relics found there.

Her signature Bohemian style chain necklaces have gained a loyal following around the globe, made of an eclectic palette of colorful beads (some which are hand painted), Swarovski crystals, antique charms and pendants, all fused together radiating a beautiful world charm. In her collection you will find chunky and bold textured styles as well as simple, refined delicate styles.

Read Micci’s Jewelry Story

The Native NY artist Micci Cohan graduated from Parsons School of Design, with a major in fine arts. During her early school years she began passionately making jewelry and then selling it on the street and to friends. Taking scraps from her paintings and sculptures and various materials she’d find rummaging the now long gone and amazing hardware and plastic stores that lined NYC’s Canal Street, she would create and design pieces by using the same approach as she did with creating her art. This meant the practice of not premeditating a design but letting it happen naturally, letting her materials and instincts guide her and this practice is still prevailing today with both her painting and jewelry. It would be while studying art history and the history of jewelry her long time infatuation would be ignited, not only with the arts of various world cultures but also their beautiful symbolic adornments.

After graduating to support her painting, she worked for many NYC Jewelry companies learning the trade and the various techniques which she would then apply to her own creations. Steadily throughout the years she independently sold her pieces then in 2004 in a boutique downtown. In 2008 She began selling on online along with art and prints and then decided to open a second store exclusively for her jewelry, thus “ Inspira Metro ” was launched. Micci Cohan 2011
