The two photos of Sasha P. with the awesome hats are really inspiring and will have to paint! A couple of weeks ago I painted a large fan from china town that I had laying around and that led me to collect pics of fans and want to paint more of them. Andrea Lomanto is a New York city based artist who’s talent is huge, my eyes and soul have always feasted on her paintings. She’s an amazing mask maker also and I love this new one “The Deer Mask” 2010. MGMT is a great band from Brooklyn whom I love to listen to while painting as well as Ebony bones, a musician who along with being a great singer, knows how to wear her colors! And lastly, Tal R is an artist I’ve been keeping an eye on since 2006, I love his clunky geometry, color palette and the primitive feel in his work.
